Rey gets training and is no longer a Mary Sue. Jake Skywalker is redeemed and is again Luke via choices made for his character. And the chosen one is addressed and handled fairly well. Involving Anakin would have been better, but the issue wasn't ignored, see YouTube video below. Jar Jar Abrams tried very hard to make things right. Solid effort and a very good film. Being a constant hater no matter what is a cottage industry these days.

This new series of films were not carefully pre-planned. This is just more proof of that fact. It also has been revealed Rian Johnson was not given a direction to go in after JJ Abram's The Force Awakens. Instead, Rian undid things setup in the first film to such a degree that it made Abram's laugh. Of course he has went into damage control mode saying that Johnson didn't screw things up, but clearly he did. Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hammil also very strongly alluded to this, but also played the part of good company man as best he could.
If Anakin is what turns Kylo around and aides in the Emperor's destruction, then the chosen one mythology will not be ruined. It will take something like this. Anything else is crapping on all the previous movies.

Rotten Tomatoes is not a viable review source anymore, and the media is bias to any film that matches their agenda. Also no one said Captain Marvel will flop, those that said that completely forgot this is Marvel, and it's a movie that's leading to Endgame. They won one battle but are losing the war.

Not enough people are going to shut up and it's just too much fun to respond. Them winning a battle by having to spend money to see movies they don't want to see isn't really a victory. Especially if continuing to respond to them wakes people up politically and we can have victories there. Of course we have to suffer with sub par movies as well, but this also inspires people to create their own art and their own versions of things like the Darth Vader fan film. People also start to entertain themselves in other ways that are healthier than Hollywood films in every way. Like getting out in the real world and getting some exercise and going to each other for news commentary/comic relief thus avoiding propaganda in two ways at once. Just like how Big Tech has led to many alternative platforms being created. Also, even films that aren't as good as they could be aren't usually a total wash at all and I've gotten really creative in still being able to see these films and never pay a dime. I payed to see the Hillary's America documentary for instance and then walked into Ghostbusters 2016!

People who were hired for social justice reasons, rather than their experience in the Star Wars franchise, are being shown the door at Lucasfilm. Money talks especially when their product is being rejected by the fans who see a failure to create an engaging and competently told story.
It doesn't matter what background you come from, so long as you are among the best for the job. The problem with entertainment companies like Disney is that what they are interested in is a person's 'diversity' background rather than their science-fiction/fantasy credentials.

The ultimate defense to protect Disney Star Wars gets destroyed.
The Lucasfilm excuse for producing poorly written or conceived Star Wars films is that they are intended for kids.
However the original Star Wars films' were not really kid movies and their box office success actually rested on a broader, and mostly male, audience that went and rewatched the movie multiple times. The films appealed to a wide age group, again centring mostly on males, with the younger ones buying the merchandise.
Today, with the relaunching of the franchise, Lucasfilm seems to have disregarded its core fan base, to produce lame films that are not rewatchable, with unlikeable characters, where children do not want to play with the toys of these characters.
What the people at Lucasfilm are doing is playing politics with the Star Wars franchise - to try and make it acceptable for social justice warrior types. Good story telling and character development was thrown overboard in such efforts, and it is costing them many millions of dollars. They will be lucky if the new Star Wars Episode IX makes enough money to pay for its production and marketing costs.

Editor's Note: I enjoyed Ghostbusters 2016. It wasn't great, but it was pretty good. I did NOT feel like they totality shit on everything Ghostbusters stood for like many do, eg respect for the topic of the paranormal. I hated the politics of it and the filmmakers officially freaking endorsed Hillary Clinton! So I refused to pay for a ticket. In full disclosure, I paid to see Dinesh D'Souza's Hillary's America and snuck into Ghostbusters! There wasn't too much political stuff that made its way into the film though. There were some lame comedic moments, but some some really funny ones as well.

Editor's Note: Almost at a loss for words... It's the Star Wars film fans want to see. The special effects are great. The acting is great. The story is great. This is no fan film, this shit is legit and really is in every way since Disney stole it. Thank God Disney keeps messing things up so bad, it will inspire more creations like this, which is a better and more plentiful result in the end. Plus some of their stuff is good and even bad Star Wars has its moments. I hated the politics, but liked Solo quite a bit actually. Sorry, I'm often against the grain, a rebel if you will. Still boycotted it until I could see it for free as I often do with movies. Rogue One was also pretty good, the Vader scene stole the show of course.
And Episode 7 was great in my opinion, I like it less now since my adrenaline stopped pumping and I'm back to thinking Empire is better, but it set up 8 really nicely and Rian fell on his face instead of dunking the ally-oop.

If they cared about money then they would make films that we fans would be lining up in droves to see. I personally think this is more about control.
